WOMEN EMPOWERMENT THROUGH MICROCREDIT:

AIM

To promote socio economic empowerment of women by linking them with microcredit institutions

OBJECTIVES

• To encourage the women to cultivate the habit of savings and thrift activities
• To promote income generation activities with the women of Self Help Groups
• To impart literacy and numeracy skills to women of Self Help Groups
• To ensure stability and sustainability of groups
• To establish bank linkages of groups
• To generate self awareness, self confidence and ability to think critically and fostering decision making skills
• To encourage group action and participate in other activities to bring about change in the society

• Women are organized into Self Help Groups on homogenous basis
• Group leader, secretary and treasurer are selected by the groups
• Bye laws are formed by the groups and bank linkages developed
• Groups avail loan for productive and income generation activities
• Literacy classes are conducted on one to one basis
• Regular trainings and exposure visits are conducted for staff, group leaders and members of Self Help Groups
• Women participate actively in developmental activities and environmental activities
