The Project seeks to promote self and wage employment to around 450 women in Holambi Kalan, Jahangirpuri and Bawana Resettlement Colonies situated in North West part of Delhi by offering skill building opportunities through running vocational courses in stitching and tailoring and beauty culture art and craft, computers, embroidery and typing. The project operates with an objective of instilling positive aspirations among youth and motivate them to go for self reliance through increasing their skills. Besides this, orientation of the beneficiaries on life skills related to negotiation, coping mechanisms, and awareness on reproductive health, premarital counselling, career counselling is an integral aspect of the project. Follow up of the youths for successful placement after completing courses also forms a very vital part of the project. Training incorporates three aspects namely skill imparting, entrepreneurship development and marketing skills implemented through a well defined curriculum and schedule. For trainees interested to be self employed, seed money is provided. It is an endeavour to promote entrepreneurs in the community who would work as role models for the youth in the area.
