VOCATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR WOMEN  :

PROJECT GOAL

To empower the women and equip them with tools to help them become self-reliant

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

1. To promote employment oriented skills (Beauty Culture and stitching and tailoring), up gradation training to the adolescent girls and women from the community.

2. To promote general awareness, self – confidence and ability to think critically and fostering decision-making skills.

TARGET BENEFICIARIES

400 women in the age group of 16 to 40 years ( 200 through Beauty culture course and 200 through stitching and tailoring course) in a year living in Bawana, Jahangipuri and Holambikalan resettlement colonies

ACTIVITIES

- 35 girls are trained in one batch for six months. Therefore, around 75 girls are trained in one year in each of the beauty culture and stitching and tailoring course. Along with theory and practical knowledge of the subject they are provided with:

- Entrepreneurship skill development sessions

- Market visits and exposure trips

- Identification of institutes providing placement opportunities

- Counseling sessions and Group Discussions

- Placement of trainees for giving practical training would be integral part of the course

- Certification provided after completion of the course

- Students are given hands on experience in the area. In addition to this, they are also given inputs on business and marketing skills as well as life skill education. Assessments are done on a monthly basis as well as final assessment examination held at the end of 6 months. A certification is provided to those who complete the course successfully.
