WHAT'S NEW:

Navjyoti has been actively involved in the capacity building of fellow NGOs, and other stakeholders in the field of drug de-addiction in the past. However, the programme is now being organized in a structured manner. In this regard we have started a Basic Training Programme on Drug Abuse Prevention & Rehabilitation.

NEW PROJECTS ON THE ROLL/NEW PARTNERSHIPS……

Computer Literacy Adds to the fervor of Bawana Projects
Habitat Learning Center of the India Habitat Center (IHC) instated a Computer Learning Center at Bawana for assisting young girls and boys of Bawana resettlement colony. Three batches are running at present benefiting 25 children directly. The center proposes to enroll more children in the coming few months

Tutorial Assistance for the Remedial Children

UTI Bank joined hands for the Remedial Education for children of Holambi Kalan resettlement colony. At present 16 classes are running in the evening shift reaching out to almost 320 children.

Inauguration of Beauty Culture Unit

Ladies Social Welfare Society of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital inaugurated Vocational Training – Beauty Culture Unit for the girls of Bawana resettlement colony. Girls are learning the basic beauty tips and latest methods of beauty.

“Community and School Based Primary Prevention work under Project G- 86” by UNODC

The Project seeks to identify 1000 students of ten schools and hundred community members covered under this project. Under the project questionnaires were filled up from the students and community members and input sessions were taken on the theme of “I Decide” “I won’t take Drugs”.

Awareness Programme for Female Partners of Drug Users under Project I-49 by UNODC.

The project proposes to identify female partner of Drug Users under this project and aims to provide them a kind of emotional and financial assistance by making their Self Help Groups. Questionnaires were filled up related to female reproductive health and drugs history about her spouse and taking case history about the injecting drug users.
