URBAN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES:

Integrated Community Development Programmes are being run in the three resettlement Colonies of Delhi namely Bawana, Holambikalan and Jahangirpuri focusing on education, health care, vocational training, women empowerment and community mobilization impacting the lives of more than 8000 beneficiaries everyday.

Our approach We are reaching out to more than 10,000 beneficiaries everyday through various interventions.

Our foray into community development began with vocational training and educational interventions.

A non institutional model of education was gradually developed and implemented.

Different forms of educational interventions are planned to cater to various categories of children including out of school, drop out and even children attending mainstream education.

Health care services are based on two fold approach of providing preventive as well as curative services at Bawana, Holambikalan, Karala.

The objective of the women empowerment programmes is not only to provide them with means of economic and social empowerment but also use them as platform for transmitting the message in the community as well.

Vocational training, community mobilization and environmental interventions form a strong backup support to other programmes and serve important means of linking community with them.
