Training of basic aspect of self help groups were also organized. This is the second phase of the project wherein, efforts are being directed to take the groups formed towards norming and performing. In this period group stabilization would take place and groups would begin to lend from its own savings for undertaking various income generating activities. The group will ensure proper scrutiny of the loan application of each member (critical peer voting of loans). Strong credit discipline will be maintained by the group by ensuring weekly repayment and quick peer pressure on individual defaulting members and norm violation. During this period members of the SHGs will receive training to develop their confidence attitude and skills to manage not only savings, and credit but would be linked to institutions and markets outside their villages. During this phase the members will be trained on specific issues relevant for the women and their role in the society and these trained members would be used for larger awareness generation in the community. Focus would be on making education and health services and esp. natal care more accessible to the women. The areas of income generation activity would also be expanded further.
  • Health Care Services: The state of mother and child health is appalling in the area. Awareness and treatment camps are organized on monthly basis in liasoning with the govt and pvt hospitals for promoting safe motherhood and child hood. Apart from that, orientation talks are also conducted with the women on health issues.
