MILESTONES:

1996

  • Women Panchayat organized in the Village Bhondsi to assess the need of the community
1997
  • First Family Counseling Centre opened in Bhondsi, Panchayat Ghar
  • First Balwari, Adult Literacy Class and Stitching Centre opened

1998
  • First OPD started and Health facilities started for the community
1999
  • Embroidery, Drawing and Painting Classes started
2000
  • 26 Balwaris opened in various villages in collaboration with India Vision Foundation for ensuring proper psychomotor and physical development of children with the support of Australian High Commission and Netherlands Embassy
2001
  • A multi purpose Rural Development Complex inaugurated to augment and centralize services provided by the Rural Development Complex
  • Formal/Bridge School opened for the classes 1st to 5th Class and mainstreamed to government schools for further studies
  • A programme called “After School” started with the aim to prevent drop out of children in schools.
  • Computer training, Chalk making and carpet weaving opened as new vocational training trades
  • Tie up with schools such as Salwan Public School, Gurgaon and DPS Maruti Kunj
2002
  • 3 Self Help Groups formed with the aim of Empowerment of women through micro credit in order to bring out a change in their quality of lives.
2003
  • A new Mission Statement developed by Director Saina R Bharucha “Empowerment of Sohna”
  • 10 Balwaris in association with India Vision Foundation opened with the support of K K Shah Charitable Trust
  • Navjyoti extends Gali School Education facility. 70 Gali Schools opened in 38 villages with the support of Life Trust to provide preschool education at affordable low cost in the friendly neighborhood.
  • 12 SHGs opened in 2 villages with the support of American India Foundation to uplift not only financial but also social condition of the women
  • Beauty Culture started as new vocational trade
  • Environment project gains momentum
2004
  • A project on Watershed Management initiated in Abheypur Village in Sohna Block with the support of Royal Netherlands Embassy. Check dam, gully plugs, soak pits, recharge well were constructed and a pond was revived.
2005
  • A project on formation of 35 Self Help Groups started in seven villages with the support of CAPART
  • A project on Energy Park sanctioned by Ministry of Non Conventional Energy Sources with the goal to promote non conventional energy sources
  • Mobile Health Services started in villages with the support of Kusters
  • An Ambulance donated by Share and Care
2006
  • Phase out from Gali Schools and revise education strategies with the focus on working with Anganwadi and Government Schools
  • Initiate Training project on Rural Governance
