ENVIRONMENT:

AIM

To encourage rural community to adopt environment friendly and sustainable lifestyles

OBJECTIVES

  • To promote soil and water conservation through low cost and locally accessed technologies
  • To accelerate sanitation coverage and elimination of open defecation
  • To encourage the community to adopt environment friendly technology and non conventional energy sources
  • To promote greenery in the Aravali region of Sohna Block, Gurgaon

ACTIVITIES
  • Water harvesting structures are constructed such as check dam, gully plugs, recharge wells with the help of community
  • Community is motivated to use toilets and discourage open defecation through rallies, home visits, puppet shows, awareness meetings, competitions
  • Demonstration and awareness sessions are conducted on regular basis at “Energy Park, Rural Development Complex” to inculcate the spirit of adopting renewable and non conventional energy sources
  • Plantation drives are conducted in schools and villages
