INDOOR
Once the patient is motivated for
treatment in OPD, he is admitted to undergo a six months
residential treatment Programme.
Treatment Programme
The patient is made to live in a therapeutic community and
treated holistically on physical, psychological, social and
spiritual aspects. Detoxification is carried on using
homoeopathy, yoga and naturopathy. Behavior modification is
emphasized throughout the Programme for better personality
development through personal introspection, working on the
negative attitudes, counseling, discipline, encountering,
educative and interactive sessions. Spiritual feelings are also
inculcated esp. at the end of the treatment Programme through
meditation, Vippassna, Art of living, Yoga etc.
Residential treatment based on the Therapeutic Community Model
is provided whereby the addicts are encouraged to live in a
harmonious drug free environment by helping each other. It
involves a 24 hour a day residential Programmeists), recovered
counselors acting as role models and patients or peer group work
with live, care and success. The patients under the practical
guidance of professionals communicate with each other the along
with their own correction, help and influence others in their
treatment and correction.
Therapeutic community allows special
consideration on behavioral reformation, as it is believed that
an individual adopts drugs only after his attitudes, behavior
and life styles start deviating or becoming socially
unacceptable. Activities like confrontation which involves
making others aware of their attitudes by first becoming aware,
encounter sessions which is a mutually helping process directed
towards anger management and other re-educative and group
therapy sessions go a long way in achieving the desired
behavioral change in addicts.
